No, we did not go anywhere. But I feel like we have been on a long journey and are finally back to normal. It started 2 weeks ago when Lillian got the flu, I think that was the last time I posted any pictures. She powered through but then followed up a week of on and off fevers with a stomach bug. She generously passed it on to me and then Luke. Luke and I were sick as dogs for 3 days. Lillian was still pitiful so the 3 of us stayed inside for days trying to avoid contaminating anyone who was bringing or taking Adeline out of the house. We tried to keep Adeline away from us as much as possible and thankfully she has still not had any flu-like symptoms. It took us days to get back on our feet. We are back now, and ready for Christmas.
We wasted no time in catching up on Christmas festivities!
Let me start with this. Here is the letter that Adeline and I wrote to Santa:
I was just her secretary, I just wrote what she said and then told her how to spell the things on her wish list. Yes, that is "Go Go Boots" on the first line. Yes, that is what she wants from Santa. I can't make this stuff up.
This was the night before the stomach bug hit our house. Adeline and I went to Pullen Park for the Holiday Express with some friends of ours, the Barrows. Baby Spencer and Adeline had a ball. Grownups did too, it is a magical place!
Jackie took Adeline to a Christmas tea party at the Umstead, one of the swankiest hotels in our area. Evidently she ate a whole bunch of sweets and chatted with Mrs. Claus. She is still talking about it!
Oh, and don't forget Lillian! She learned how to put on lipstick. I promise, I do pay attention to her while I am driving but I evidently missed that she had gotten hold of my lip gloss. I had quite a surprise when I went to take her out of her carseat.
Here is Adeline after her first dentist appointment. Her teeth were so shiny she had to wear sunglasses.
Miss Priss wearing my old Nutcracker ballet costume. She thinks it looks like Sofia the First (a new Princess from Disney)
Here is the sheep in her school Christmas program. She was not happy that she did not get to be the angel but I thought she did a great job being a sheep!
The girls in her class were dying to see what the baby Jesus looked like. Even though it was only a doll they were all afraid to touch it.
I include this next picture only because I think it is so funny. Lillian is breaking down, Luke and I are trying to help her pull it together and Adeline, well, she is all smiles. Can you tell I have taken a few pictures of her in her lifetime?
Another visit with Santa but this time with a bestie, Sulli.
Lillian headed to Teeny and Doc's, evidently got some new jewels.
Christmas Party at school.
Adeline had her ballet "show-off" today. I told her that some mommy's and daddy's were coming to watch and she said, and I quote, "Oh, I need my jewelry and purple tutu then!"
Phew, that was just the last 10 days. More to come in the next 7 days. Let the countdown begin!
