I think of the last day of summer as the day before preschool starts. That was Labor Day this year. Luke took Adeline dove hunting. I had assured him that it would be a painful day, she would cry a lot, ask about the birds Mommy and Daddy, cry some more, beg to come home, and then cry some more. Well, I was wrong. Very wrong. It would appear she is very comfortable in the field.
Yes, that's a dead dove.
Her partner and role model.
Our cute neighbor showing Adeline the ropes. Yup, that's the doves head in her hand.
If I was a betting woman I would have lost a bunch of money that day. I think she is turning into a tomboy.
On the same day we had one last hurrah at the pool. I have avoided the icee machine all summer. Thankfully the girls have never even asked for the icees. But the last day of summer found me a little weak. You see the outcome...
Next day was the start of preschool. Adeline in the transitional Kindergarten and Lillian in the Twos. Soooo hard to believe.
I asked them to hold up the number of fingers for each year...Lillian was confused by the question.
We are looking forward to a great year!
