Almost "school days"!

Today was the day to meet the teachers!  I thought it wise to get a picture of the girls together today in case Tuesday is a crazy day.Look at how excited Lillian is...that is a squeal (think it was at the truck passing by).

Adeline in Ms. Sue's with her buddies.

You know my girl loves a jobs chart.  Give her some paper and Velcro and she is happy for hours!

Then off to sweet Lillian's class with Tina and Kay.  They are called 'The Baby Bears'.  It was fun to see her getting the lay of the land...and to see Adeline show her around.  Adeline is definitely going to be the Big Girl on campus.

Lillian with Ms. Kay (love her!) and with a new buddy, Mary Charles.

On the way out, we tackled the slide at school.  A first for Lillian.  She has seen her sister do it for a year but had never climbed the steps herself.  It was a  big day all around!

Oh, and then baby (not-so-baby anymore) Ollie came by for a visit.

Birthday pt. 3!

OK, last post about my birthday.

As I have mentioned in earlier posts, Adeline loves to make "soup" on the porch.  We had just arrived and she was already cooking.  This time it was acorn soup for the girls (in the chairs to the left).

One of our first adventures was a trip to Roomies to say "hello" to the horse and to pick tomatoes.  Roomie and John were not there but we had fun harvesting on their porch!

Uncle Weese got there on Friday evening....with balloons!  The girls (all 3 of us) loved them.  They lasted for days, and Adeline and Weese actually let 2 go to see how high they would fly.  One did not even make it out of the trees but was helped down by the BB gun.

Lillian REALLY loved the balloons.  She dragged them around with her for 2 days.

A couple trips to the park...

and walks around the block.

Dance party with Uncle Weese!
(notice the pink balloon)

We had planned to have a picnic on the parkway Saturday but the weather did not agree with us.  Teeny and Adeline got to work and made the perfect make-shift picnic area, on the porch.  Followed by a jam session...

and then bubbles!

If there is ever a moment when we cannot find Adeline we know that we can find her in the driveway.  Picking acorns and putting them in the pitcher.  For acorn soup, of course!

The flower girl.  Teeny was pruning the roses and Adeline thought it was SO much fun to have the flowers thrown on her like a flower girl.  It was a great way to end the weekend!

Thanks to everyone for making my birthday special, and making it last and last and last!

Mini Murray's are private

Sorry for the confusion...I decided to make The Mini Murray's private. Blogger asked for the email addresses of those that are allowed to view the blog, I did not know it would send out an email to everyone.  Sorry!  Not sure what you will have to do now, sign-in, etc.  Hope it is not a bother!

Birthday pt. 2!

On our way to the mountains we stopped off in Winston to meet Teeny.  She wanted one of the girls to ride with her but she also had a birthday picnic in mind.  A perfect spot...Old Salem!  We had lunch and cupcakes and the girls ran around for a few minutes before we got back on the road.  Old Salem has a special place in my heart and I loved seeing the girls playing and seeing it for the first time.  We will have to go back when we can see the rest of it!

Did I mention that Teeny brought cupcakes?  Lillian liked the icing.

Lots of room to walk and run...

and pick flowers.

It was very special for me to see the two of them in such a beautiful, historical setting....not sure they realized how special it was...Adeline made a lot of comments on how "everything is old, and the path is dirty".  In her defense, we did just get new shoes.

My Birthday! pt.1

I love birthdays.  All birthdays.  Which means I really love my own birthday, especially when I can see how excited Adeline gets about a party!  We had a celebration Wednesday with the Murrays, complete with a hat that sings and dances on your head.
Lillian and Poppy spent some time on the steps sorting through Nonni's purse.

Here is the hat...it really is funny.  We all took turns wearing it.

Adeline and Riley.  I was thrilled to get this picture!  I have not been able to get either of them to sit still long enough to capture them in the same frame.  Mission accomplished.

Riley and Susan made the salad. That is Susan in the background showing off the cucumber that Riley peeled (I think he used a hatchet).

While everyone else made salad, Lillian went shopping.

We tried to get a group shot before everyone left but Lillian had a date with her crib.

Lillian likes Nonni's nose!

We had a great night, thanks to everyone for helping me celebrate my birthday...pt. 1!  I mentioned that I love birthdays, right?  The girls and I headed to Blowing Rock on Thursday, my actual birthday, where we had more celebrations!  Will post pictures tomorrow...

Le Petit Lillian

Lillian is our little big girl.  She is 16 months now and really motoring around.  Always on the go and chatting away, although we are not sure what she is saying.  She truly is a peanut.  At her 15 month check-up she weighed a whopping 19.6 lbs.  The doctor wanted me to "beef her up" and bring her back in a month for a weigh-in.  Luke and I have been like the hosts of the Biggest Gainer, giving her anything and everything that is edible.  Here are a few pictures of her from the past week.

We are minutes from her big weigh-in and she is still eating.  Results?  She was.....drum roll, please...20.1 lbs.  She looks like her Teeny's side of the family which means she is going to be Teeny tiny!
On another note...
Monday night, minutes before heading up to bed, I noticed that our front yard was covered in lightening bugs.  Adeline (with our help) had a jar full of fireflies within 20 minutes.

Another trip to Pullen Park with friends!

Here are the girls with the Big Girl, as Adeline calls her.  Sweet Anna was so sweet with Adeline and Lillian.  A perfect mother's helper!

Oh, and Adeline can do flips in the pool!  With the help of Daddy, of course.
