From the mountains to the coast

We had a quick trip to Blowing Rock the last weekend in July.  The girls had  lots of chances to run around outside and ride in the wagon (between the rain showers).

A highlight was the trip to Bass Lake for a picnic.  The ducks loved our picnic too!

Adeline being Adeline.

Teeny's yard looked amazing!

Adeline loves to play with the rocks in the driveway...drive Doc crazy.

Lots of swing time.  She is such a peanut.

We did get a quick visit with Spencer and sweet Hartley.

Flash forward a few weeks and Luke and Adeline headed to the beach with the Brewer boys.  While they were gone....I cut bangs on Lillian.  I think she looks precious.  Best part, she stopped blinking 50 times a minute.

Adeline had a great time with the Brewer boys.  It rained a lot and was chilly but they had fun anyway!
Lillian and I joined them for 2 nights.
We took Lillian on her first boat ride!

Did I mention it was cold?  They were counting how many towels he could wrap around himself.

We have to keep Lillian on a short leash, literally.

Captain Adeline.

Sweet kids.

Camp Teeny Doc

Adeline had less time at Camp Teeny Doc's than Lillian, but they accomplished a lot in 3 days!
Of course they had to feed the deer as soon as she got to town.

Doc and Adeline took her first trip to the river to fish.  I asked her what she caught and she said, "Nothing, our hook got stuck in the tree.   But we had lots of fun climbing on the rocks!"

Teeny and Adeline took a trip to the Sciquarium in Greensboro.  Adeline touched a sting ray!

Lazy mornings...

The zoo...

Lots of coloring.

They played concentration a lot.  A whole lot.

These days

We are near the last days of summer, sadly.
Here is a quick glimpse at some of the highlights from the last few weeks.

Dinner with baby Spencer:

Lunch with Jackie in her new hometown, Chapel Hill

A trip to the dentist, 2 wiggly teeth already!

Lillian got a hold of Adeline's dress-up dangling ear bobs.

Lillian picking our first Tithonia bloom.

A summer tea party, ironically and appropriately on the day Prince George was born.

There have been a few day this summer where Lillian has refused to nap, much to my dismay.  One day she redecorated her crib and fussed enough that I just took her out and started fixing dinner.  I thought she was watching Sofia...

Adeline had a camp last week that was doll themed.  She took a baby doll everyday and the last day  they had a tea party.  It was pretty cute.

This does not even need a caption.

Some new sweet friends that are only a few months apart from Lillian and Adeline in age.

 Summer ice cream.

Lillian feeding the ducks.  This was only moments before we incited a brawl between a sweet little duck and mean ole goose.  We were then informed by park staff that we were not supposed to feed the ducks.

The girls had a board meeting at Luke's office this week.  Adeline was writing up deals and working on showing off color samples.
