WOW, Christmas Morning

This video says it all, especially for Lillian - WOW.  She said it all morning long, but soon added "open" to her vocabulary.

Santa came through for Adeline and brought her a pair of go go boots.  This picture was taken at 6:00 a.m., she did not take them off until 8:00 p.m.

Santa brought Adeline lip gloss.  Lillian thought it was a nice shade of pink.

The girls needed a break from all the unwrapping.

 Where's Lillian?

The girls got a doll crib and changing table.  Lillian thought the crib looked comfy, she got in there by herself! It was a theme for the day...later she climbed into the doll carrier that Nonni and Poppy gave her.  I think she looks like a doll, and she thinks she is one!

Lillian loved the Barbie Beetle from BenHenry (that is what Adeline calls them). I gave Adeline a new out fit for my old Felicity doll.  The outfits are far more trendy these days.

Nonni and Poppy stopped by after the morning mayhem and brought the girls presents...

A Caroline doll for Adeline with matching purple dresses.  The purple dress would be a recurring theme too.

Later in the day, BenHenry came by and this was the sight I saw when I walked out on the back porch.  The boys got jerseys for Christmas, Lillian is wearing her Dora dress and Adeline is up in the fort in her Rapunzel dress, and of course the boots.

We headed to the Murray's for a delicious dinner.  I don't even have to tell you what Adeline wore. Here she is pretending she has hot chocolate and marshmallows.  Lillian and I pose for our Christmas crown picture!

It was a wonderful Christmas!   I am thankful for so much.  Family, friends, good health, food on the table, roof over our heads, the list goes on.  I am so thankful for my sweet girls- being able to watch them experience the wonder of Christmas was awesome.  But teaching them the meaning of Jesus and His precious birthday is beyond words.  I think my favorite carol this year was hearing Adeline sing "Happy Birthday, Baby Jesus" on Christmas morning.
Hope you all had an amazing Christmas!
Can't believe I am going to say this: see you in 2013!

Christmas Eve

The most wonderful time of the year!
Adeline: before and after.  She wore my coat (circa 1983) to church but quickly switched over to the sheep costume for the kids nativity service.  You can see her at the front in the bottom left picture, may have to squint to make her out, she is the one with the ears.

After church we headed to the Kings for a wonderful dinner.

Lillian and Nonni laughing!

Lillian loved the snow globe!

Presents! Purple abounds and Lillian gets a new winter coat!

Nonni always gives the girls new pjs on Christmas eve.  They wasted no time getting them on!

Home just before Santa arrived in Wake County.  Adeline picked out cookies for Santa and Lillian licked them all.

Will post Christmas morning tomorrow!

The eve of Christmas eve...

Doc and Teeny came down on Thursday and we had an early Christmas with them and Wilson and Lindsey.  Here are pics of the girls unwrapping their gifts...Adeline shows her sister how to unwrap...

Lillian got a phone, no need to show her how to talk on it,,,

Then we got a sweet visit from the Neelons! A small miracle that we got a picture of all of the girls on  the couch-smiling!!!

Teeny and Lillian, just a quick snuggle.

I have tried to explain this to Luke and others but not been able to fully express the magnitude of this moment for me, as a mom, as a girl, as a daughter...seeing my sweet girls get their own American girl dolls and accessories is a great moment. I loved dolls, American Girl dolls, when I was little and I really love that my girls are starting to love them too!  Adeline got a dresser for my old doll Felicity and Lillian got a Bitty Baby.  It was a big moment for them, and maybe me too :)

Adeline and Lillian got a tablet too...Adeline calls it an iPad.  She told her cousin Riley today that she got an iPad...his mouth dropped open...I quickly filled in the blanks.

It is a big hit with both girls.

Nothing like a family portrait!

A visit with T-Bird to give him the tie Adeline picked out, OF COURSE it is purple!

He brought them a new pillow pet, to add to the pillow pets her already bought them.

Follow it up with a dinner with the Brewers...

No secret that tomorrow is Christmas Eve...hang on to your Santa hats!
