Happy Thanksgiving!

I'll start this post with the turkey song.  Adeline has been singing this song on repeat for weeks.  That is probably why Lillian seems to know the song.

The week that followed was packed with lots of great memories. It will be easier to break it down by days.

TUESDAY: Feast Day

Thanksgiving Program at school followed by a potluck "feast".  Lillian had so much fun chasing all the big kids.

THURSDAY: Turkey day.

Adeline ran around in the yard to blow off steam before the big meal.

Kicked the ball with Weese...

Wagon rides for Lillian...

The girls posed for a few pictures...

Tug of war with the wishbone...Dad won...

Then strummed a few chords with Weese.

FRIDAY: Mimi's!

We piled in the car to hop over the mountain to Marion for a quick visit with Mimi.  She looked beautiful and Adeline was big help with her walker.

Back over the mountain by 3:00, just in time for a trip to see Santa in the park.  Swing rides for Lillian...

hot chocolate for Adeline.

SATURDAY: Parade!

Adeline and Mrs. Judy watched passerbys while Lillian wished she was out in the freezing cold.  We finished our Saturday and our weekend with a hug for Santa.  Won't be the last Santa we will hug this month!

Parade!

Today was the start of the holiday season in Raleigh! We met some friends downtown for the Christmas parade.  All the kids had a great time.  I did too!  I am the first to admit how much I love parades!

They were fascinated by "the big balloons ducking under the light poll!"

This is one of our sweet friend's daughters who is 7 and was reading to Adeline at lunch after the parade.  Adeline is convinced that she hung the moon.  On the right is Adeline with baby Spencer.  We know she is not a baby but we still call her that!

The kiddos with the Raleigh skyline in the back.

Just as the parade ends with Santa, so will my post.  A few weeks ago Adeline and I were talking about   Santa over breakfast.  I tried to tape it all but my phone cut off looooong before she was finished talking about how she wanted Santa to hold her.  I laugh out l loud every time I watch this, mostly because she is so animated.

Mini and Big Murrays

Luke and I had a chance to get away last weekend for 3 days.  We had a great time and the girls did too!  They vacationed with Nonni and Poppy...here are some pictures that Poppy took with his camera.

Lillian really likes to go through the drawers and "help" Nonni.  She also took a field trip to SueSue and Riley's  while Adeline went to the museum.

Evidently the weather was wonderful in Raleigh.  As Poppy said, "A perfect day for a stroll!"

Meanwhile...we headed to the Greenbrier!  It was a gorgeous weekend and we had a fantastic time!  I try to avoid putting pictures of us on here because, well, who wants to see pictures of us?!?!  But I will make an exception here because it was such a cool place to visit!

They were beginning to decorate for Christmas, they say it takes 4 weeks to get all the decorations up!

The spring that brought people to the area.  Now the spring is pumped into the spa up the hill.

Did I mention that the weather was perfect? Perfect fall weather!

We toured the fall-out shelter.  It was fascinating!  Could not take our cameras past the first bunker door so this is all we have to show for our tour.

Now that we are all rested we are ready for the holidays!

"I dunno"

That is what Lillian says if you ask her where something/someone is. I dunno.  She talks a lot, we just don't know what she is saying.  Except "I dunno" is very clear, at least to us!

Lillian and I stopped by the chicken lady's house one morning after walking Adeline to school.  She was still in her pjs and kept trying to feed them the rocks on the outside of the fence.
