Mitford Moments

We had another trip to the mountains!  There was an engagement party for our friends Jackie and Hayes on Saturday and we were thrilled to have another reason to head to the hills.  As the title of this post suggests, there were plenty of photo ops and many Mitford moments.

Our little ginger.

Our neighbor Sharon (Roomie) treated Adeline to a trip to the horse show on Friday afternoon.  They had a full tour of the stables, saw lots of horses and even a doe on the way home.  It was very special trip for Adeline but was made even better when Roomie offered to paint her "finger toes".  Purple polish even.

Many wagon rides.

Many many peanuts.

"Look at me run!"

"Look at me laugh!"

Lindsey (a.k.a. Windsee) had her 30th birthday on Friday.  We were not with them on the actual day so mom gave her a cake this morning.  Only time Adeline has had a piece of cake before 10 am.
The icing was whipped cream...

Lillian likes whipped cream icing...

a lot.

It is not a trip to the mountains without some time on the porch swing, and Wilson strumming the guitar.  Adeline will hopefully learn from him!

Adeline trying on Teeny's glasses.  Harry Potter?

This is a silly video. Adeline was collecting apples "for the winter", Doc and Lillian were trying to help shake the crab apples off the tree. Silly.

Little Red Riding Hood

I often walk in on Adeline reading stories to Lillian, herself, dolls, or "Tommy".  Today I heard her talking to herself about the big bad wolf.  When I asked her what she was doing she started to tell me the story of Little Red Riding Hood...I quickly grabbed my phone and tried to set it up so she would not know I was recording...I think she figured it out at first but soon forgot.  Here is her version of the famous tale.  I love the way she talks, so sweet.  I will be sad when she looses the lisp with her "s" or says "ever" instead of "eber".

All this construction made Adeline a little curious... her first time holding a drill.

Lillian and our trim expert, Brian.  He is obviously a good guy, she went right to him!

Our weekend

Adeline had 2 birthday parties on Saturday morning. The first was a pool party for her bestie, Sulli.
She swam her heart out for an hour and then it was time for a wardrobe change (thus the dress and hula skirt).

Here she is with her buddies.  These four are in school together during the year and Adeline had not
seen them in a long time.  Reunited!

Party #2, a ballet party with another bestie, MotMot (Margaret).  We were late for this one but Adeline still ate cake(s) and threw a punch at the pinata.  The pinata brought up a whole new area that we need to work on...surprising to me and Lillian, Adeline had a problem finding her scrapiness when it came to picking up the candy.  It ended in some tears BUT a few sympathy tootsie rolls from the other girls.

All parties done it was a great weekend and we had fun.

Bam Bam baby.

Better Late....

than never.  I sort of got Lillian in motion... it is hard to get any distance between the two of us because she is always on the move towards me.  She is a little sweet pea!

No News is Good News

Lillian was down with a fever last week for several days and big sister was very patient with the patient.  Thankfully it was 100 degrees outside and no one wanted to be out playing anyway.  We are all well now and Adeline is in an Olympic camp this week at her preschool. Needless to say, we have not had that many photo ops in the last 10 days.  Here is a snapshot of what the Mini Murrays have been up to..

Here is Miss Blue Eyes at 15 months.  I have still not been able to get a really good video of her walking but it should be coming soon.  I think she knows what I am up to when I pull out my phone to video her, she may be my
camera-shy child.

Doc came by after one of his meeting and I tried to make him stay longer by plopping Lillian down in the drivers seat. He can't drive off with her, right?! She was quite happy, as you can tell, and would have rolled the window up on me if she knew how.  I think she would have gone all the way to Randleman if I had let her.

Yard update: walkway in progress. They are putting in plants today...almost finished!
The pig-tailed princess is on the steps...

...minutes after she woke up from her nap.  Obviously she had not gotten "all her sleep out".  She was waiting on the porch for SueSue who was coming to pick her up and take her for a dress-up playdate.

Here they are after the dress-up party.  Adeline and SueSue were covered from tip to toe in jewels and pearls.  Mr. Bear joined them for the dress-up and then had tea with them, too.

We finally made it out to Fletcher Park with Weese and Windsee.  City of Raleigh usually has Sunday night concerts in the summer at the park and we meet them up there for a picnic.  There was no music the Sunday night we went but we had a fun anyway.

Adeline and our neighbor were whipping around the yard in the jeep and Lillian was beside herself.  She was hollering and pointing at the jeep...so I put her in with them.  She was content after that. She may have whiplash though.

Summertime!

Our first dahlia of the season.  NOT our first ice cream cone of the season.

Adeline got roller skates! In her words, "I think I need practice."

The Rest

Here are the rest of the pictures from our trip to the mountains.

We were thrilled to run into Carolyn and sweet Tripp on their way to Charlotte Monday.  Adeline thought he was pretty cute.

Yet another trip to the park.

Yet another wagon ride, this one with Moses Cone in the background.  We had a game to see who could spot "Mrs. Cones house" first.

Teeny and Doc's yard looked incredible, absolutely incredible.  The hastas and daylillies were in FULL bloom.

The...no words to describe:

Doc, Teeny, and the girls.

Adeline finally got to pull Lillian in the wagon.  She had wanted to do this all week...and then she left her strapped in the wagon to climb a rock.
