Heel Toe, Heel Toe, Shuffle Ball Change

Adeline and her buddy Sullivan had there dance "show-off" yesterday.  It was not a recital because there were only 2 in the class and, well, they had a lot to learn in a year.  This was just the regular class but parents and guests were invited to watch.  Here are a few pictures and videos from the "show-off".

This was Adeline and Sulli on their first day of dance in Sept:

Here they were yesterday:

Adeline and Miss Katie.  There were only 2 in the class....we liked to think they were private lessons.

When the class started in the fall Adeline was not able to put her tap shoes on by herself.  She was able to do it like a pro here!

The moms and baby sister.  WE should get an award for waiting outside the classroom for the last 8 months.

Mornings

As soon as Adeline wakes up (at 6:00 am) she asks if she can go in Lillian's room.  Lillian is usually not awake this early so Adeline plays in our room and hers until she finally hears a squeak from L's room (6:15 am).  They will then play in the crib until I can drag myself out of bed (6:30 am tops).  We then head downstairs and begin the "I am hungry"/"feed me!" portion of the morning.  This is why I thought it would be helpful if I could get Adeline to help with feeding Lillian.  As you see, it really only makes a mess.  But it was a good laugh and start to the day!

Summer is here

We had one last play day with our friends from pre-school.  It was a hastily planned get together with our buddies but everyone came and it was a great start to summer.  Notice Lillian...she has her eye on me and is thinking, "who are these people and why am I eating with them."  That is what the boy next to her is thinking too.

But it does not ruin her appetite.

They thought this was the greatest thing ever.  To be able to slide side-by-side?  Does it get any better?

This was just a sweet picture that Luke had sent me last weekend when Lillian was so sick.  I just want to hug her every time I see it.

"Da Pooooool".  That is how she says it. Pool is a 4 syllable word.  The bathing suit was a gift from our good friend Wallace's mommy.

What they do when I am not watching...

I was watching.  I was putting some boxes in the attic and put Lillian down on the floor in Adeline's room to play.  You can see the destruction they caused in just 5 mins time.  But they giggled the whole time!

End of the Year

I cannot believe that Adeline's preschool year is over.  She will be in the 4's class next year and then do a pre-K. Thank goodness I have 2 more years before I have to comprehend her going to kindergarten.  We had her year end party yesterday and it was a huge success!

Her little buddies

The bounce house.  They took turns, boys then girls.  The girls wanted nothing to do with it if the boys were playing "crazyish".

The gang!

I asked her to wear a bathing suit but she insisted on wearing her watermelon dress.  It is currently the most popular article of clothing in her closet and she asks to wear it e-v-e-r-y single day.  I finally gave up the stress of the swim suit and let her wear the dress.  She was happy.

Did you know Adeline loves hopscotch and is really good at it?

Bon Appetit!

No exaggeration.  This is what it is usually like at dinner time.

Lillian is so pumped to be on the free end of this situation.  Usually she is the one strapped into the highchair and Adeline is running laps around her.

Hi!

We are training her to answer the phone when telemarketers call.

Mother's Day Weekend

Teeny and Doc came to Raleigh for Mother's Day weekend. Doc is known for his pony rides and Teeny, well, she likes to ride shotgun. HERE is the proof...

Adeline asked repeatedly on Friday and Saturday for paints to paint a picture of "Weese, Windsey, Teeny and Doc". She sat out there and painted for 30 minutes.  She did a great, detailed, colorful, painting but I am not sure it actually looked like them.

Maternal Bliss...

Maternal Mess.

After church we went to the park for a picnic.

The Princess and our picnic.

Doc.  Look at all these blue eyes!

Wearing more of her lunch than eating it.

Teeny and Doc gave Adeline her first guitar, of course it is pink.  Weese was trying to teach her the basics...very basic.

She tried. But was hungry.

Did someone say s'more?

There is nothing like a s'more...

no matter how sticky.

We were thrilled to find a robin egg in the yard!  I originally told Adeline it was a Blue Bird egg, which she translated into "Boo Burd".

Then she got into my lipstick...must admit that I helped her with her lip lining.

We had a playdate with a friend on Friday and she (sooooo kindly) gave us a tutu.  Adeline wore it all weekend.  It would appear she has my sense of style.

A visit from Uncle Weese.

This was cute.  You would think they were looking at a clown driving an ice cream truck but no....it was our mailman.

Adeline the butterfly!

I am pretty sure that this is not how the manufacturers of this toy intended for it to be used.

A song to start the day...

...the lyrics were inspired!  She spends most days making up words to songs.  This one was particularly entertaining.

Women drivers.

First ice cream cone of the season!

All the ice cream left on her face was quickly covered with dirt.  Made for a very necessary bath!
