The last few days...

We had the tree in our front yard cut down this week.  The process provided plenty of entertainment for the girls and the whole neighborhood!

Lillian did this ALL BY HERSELF.  She was holding onto the edge of the basket one minute, I turned around for a second and she climbed in. Wish she was that good at putting the laundry away.

I turned Lillian's car seat around to face forward, a few days early (supposed to when they turn one).  This was our first trip out with her seeing the world from this new perspective.  She hooted the whole time!

Egg Hunt #2

We had wonderful egg hunt on Tuesday!  It was a beautiful afternoon and Adeline was finally getting the hang of hunting eggs.  

There were many more eggs than kids so she had no trouble finding them!

Parent Appreciation Program

Adeline had her Music and Movement program at school last Tuesday.  It is a chance for them to show the parents what the kids have learned since the start of the school year.  It is precious.  They start with a "warm up" shown in the pictures below.  Then 3 videos....yes, there was parent participation!

Easter Egg Hunt

Adeline had her Easter party at school today.  Here are the kids hunting for eggs...

Ladybug

Her nickname is "Ladybug" so this video is very appropriate.  She is wearing her lucky Carolina cheerleading outfit (mine when I was little- a bit too small for her now).  Sadly, it was not so lucky tonight.

Flying Fairy

Whitney babysat last night....we have not seen her enough since she started working for Northstar, and the girls have missed her! Adeline looooooves Ms Whitney.  By the time we got home A was perfecting her fairy wings and flying form.

Field Trip! Adeline had her first field trip today to the Carolina Puppet Theater (everyone had to wear yellow).  She was very excited, mostly about riding on a bus for the first time.

Story Time

This was the scene that I walked into after I left Adeline to entertain Lillian while I fixed a bottle.  Adeline is checking her reflection in the mirror, often.  Lillian catches sight of me well before her sister sees that I am watching...thus the squealing.

I think I have lost my mind. Luke was out of town this weekend so I had a lot of time with my girls.  Lillian and I are together all the time usually which may be why I am convinced she was "talking" back to me this morning.  You all can be the jury....

I would bet a billion dollars that she was saying 'hello' and 'bye-bye'.  I probably would be broke.

This was Adeline on Friday with the "fluffy flowers".  We have a route we walk a lot and there is a yard FULL of the fluffy flowers.  I told her Friday that you got to make a wish when you blew all the 'fluffs" off, at least that is what I grew up thinking.  Notice the other ones in her hand.  She was taking full advantage of the wishes.

Friday with a Friend

We had a beautiful day here today!  We met some friends at Pullen Park for rides and a picnic.  Here is a good pic of Adeline and her buddy Caroline.  They ran, played, ate, whined (in unison at times), and loved every minute.  We are thrilled that spring is here!

I can still remember my mom taking Wilson and I to feed the ducks when we were kids.  I hope Adeline will love it as much as we did.

And it is always a bonus when she can destroy any evidence that she did not eat all of her lunch.

We wrapped up our spring day with a walk and an hour (or so) on the swings.  Lillian loves the swing. This is a great video of her laughing and squealing. Adeline loves to push her......in more ways than one!

I put Lillian down for her nap and came back downstairs to tell Adeline I was going to get dressed to go.  I heard her in her sunroom reading, nothing unusual. I was not expecting her to be reading THERE.

We've Come a Long Way....Babies!

We had a fun weekend with some of my dear friends from college and their babies.  Elizabeth's little boy, Wallace, was born on the same day as Lillian.  It was so much fun to see all the kids together and Adeline loved all the babies!

We have a lot of work to do before she can hit the courts.  She is a natural! Yes, she is playing with a plastic orange.  Hattie chases any of the tennis balls we have so we have found it better to play with fruit.

A couple of weeks ago we made a last minute, very quick trip to Randleman to see my aunt and uncle and cousins who were in town for a short visit.  Lillian had not met them yet and I had not seen them in almost 2 years.

Adeline was mesmerized by Aubrey...she talked about her bracelets the whole way back to Raleigh.
